Ghana and Newcastle United winger, Christian Atsu has joined several African stars to oppose the idea of French doctors who have suggested that Coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccines should be tested in Africa.

A report in the last couple of days has two French Doctors, Jean-Paul Mira and Camille Locht opening up on plans to test BCG vaccines used for the treatment of Tuberculosis as vaccines for the covid-19 in Africa.

"Can we not try these studies just like in AIDS research, in Africa where there is no mask, treatment, intensive care, or prostitutes? Because they are more prone to getting sick, they are not protected”, Dr. Mira said in an interview on TV.

Dr. Locht in support of Dr. Mira's suggesting said: "You are right. We are already considering doing a research in Africa in parallel with this research”.

In a Twitter post by Christian Atsu on the matter, he has shared his view while stressing that they should be ashamed.

“They are not even ashamed of themselves. They want to test the new vaccine first in Africa”, Atsu said.

Other African stars, Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto'o, and KP Boateng have also opposed the idea.
