Augustine Okrah has revealed why he rejected several offers to join Ghana Premier League side Bechem United prior to the start of the new season.

The 28-year-old re-joined the Hunters for a second spell after leaving Kotoko.

Okrah, in his first season, finished as the league's top scorer in the 2013/14 season.

He marked his return in style after scoring in Bechem United's 4-0 win over Medeama at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Sunday in their league opener.

"It is the best decision although there were different offers on my desk. I’m excited to join Bechem United and I believe things will turn around for me," he said in his post-match interview.

"We have a great start of the season and I hope we will continue with this great performance."

"I always say that league games, unlike cup matches, are marathons so we have to lower our expectations somehow."

Bechem United are top of the embryonic Premier League table with three points and will take on Asante Kotoko in their second league game at the Baba Yara stadium.
