Former England and Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce has been given a green-light to return to management after being cleared by the Metropolitan Police over alleged bribery, according to theDaily Mail.

The 62-year-old is expected to receive an offer from Sunderland, who have struggled under the tenure of David Moyes this season having picked up just one win in their opening 11 games.

Another one of Big Sam's former clubs, West Ham, could also be on the lookout for a new manager in the coming months if Slaven Bilic can't reverse the woeful start to their campaign.

The news will come as a huge boost to Allardyce, who lasted just 67-days as England manager after being sacked for alleged corruption following a Daily Telegraph sting.

As quoted by theDaily Mail, Allardyce said:"I welcome today's confirmation that I will not be the subject of a police investigation. I was always confident that this would be the case as there was no evidence against me.
