Baba Yara pitch wasn’t too good against the Central African Republic - Antoine Semenyo

Ghanaian striker Antoine Semenyo has expressed his concerns about the condition of the Baba Yara Stadium pitch during their recent AFCON qualifier against the Central African Republic.

The Bournemouth forward entered the game in the second half, ultimately providing the crucial assist for Lyon winger Ernest Nuamah to secure the second goal, sealing a 2-1 victory for the Black Stars.

Reflecting on the match, Semenyo told his club’s media team, "That was a good game, it was a tough game, the pitch wasn’t too good and the opposition they surprised us and we were really good.

“They caught us by surprise and I’m happy to say I came on, provided the assist for the winner, so I can’t complain."

At 23 years old, Semenyo is anticipated to play a significant role as Ghana aims to end its 42-year wait for an AFCON title.

In the current Premier League season, he has netted a goal in five appearances for Bournemouth.
