Former Ghana striker, Baffour Gyan, remains optimistic about the prospects of the Black Stars despite their recent struggles on the field.

The Ghanaian senior men's national team has faced difficulties in recent matches, notably experiencing early exits in the last two Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments.

The underwhelming performance during the recent AFCON led to the dismissal of Chris Hughton and his coaching staff. Hughton, a former Premier League manager, has been replaced by Otto Addo on a 34-month contract.

In Addo's initial two matches in charge during the March international break, Ghana suffered a defeat against Nigeria and secured a draw against Uganda.

Despite these setbacks, Baffour Gyan, who has represented the Black Stars in his career, remains hopeful for the team's future.

He expressed confidence in the ongoing rebuilding process, stating, "The Black Stars are in a rebuilding phase, and it's the collective hope of every Ghanaian that this process unfolds positively," he remarked in an interview with Asempa FM as monitored by Footballghana.com.

"They are piecing things together, and we all wish for success, which I believe will come."

Looking ahead, Ghana's next fixtures will be in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, where they will face Mali and the Central African Republic in June.
