Barcelona have rubbished claims from Serge Aurier that they were in contact over the summer.
The Tottenham fullback has claimed he was ready to leave PSG for Barcelona, only for the move to fall through at the last minute. The Ivorian felt his past reputation had worked against him.
However, Barca sources insisted to Sport this was not the case.
"We have never met this player or his representative. They wanted to meet us, but nothing has ever happened," said the insider.
Earlier, Aurier had stated: "I was in discussions with Barça, it was well advanced, and there is that (his reputation) that has worked against me, because they did not know if it would be different if I came."
