German-born defender of Ghanaian descent, Jerome Boateng luckily escaped death after being involved in a car crash.

According to reports, the center-back crashed his expensive Mercedes AMG into a barricade while returning to his home after paying his son a visit.

Luckily for the World Cup winner, he was unharmed as he escaped death or any sort of serious injuries.

It is understood that the player is thankful for his safety and will continue to engage in charity work to help people in Germany through this difficult period presented by the Coronavirus pandemic.

In a recent interview before his accident, his said: “For me, role models these days are those who go through their work in difficult situations and ensure that life goes on as much as possible.

“In times like these, it is important that we all help each other. We footballers are often pushed into the role model.

“Like the volunteers at the [foodbank] tables. I decided to support the tables in my hometown of Berlin and in Munich, where I have spent many years of my life”.

Jerome Boateng is rumored to be on his way out of Bayern Munich and could end up playing in Italy or France when football returns after the Coronavirus pandemic.
