Bayern Munich Star Backs Memphis to Succeed But Hints at Move Away From Old Trafford

Memphis Depay's Netherlands teammate Arjen Robben has backed the Manchester United flop to resurrect his young career - but admitted that he looks likely to have to move in order to make it happen.

The 22-year-old has just one start for Jose Mourinho's side this season, featuring against Northampton in the EFL Cup back in September, and has racked up just 20 Premier League minutes across a handful of substitute appearances.

Speaking toGoal, Robben insisted that the former PSV Eindhoven man can still come good, saying:He is a very talented player. It's a pity it didn't work at Manchester until now. He's playing very few matches. I'm expecting something to happen next time, maybe he will make a move in the winter break.

Jose Mourinho has already hinted that Memphis could be on his way out of Old Trafford in January- whether permanently or on loan - with both Everton and Tottenham said to be keeping a close eye on the former Eredivisie top scorer's availability.

Speaking in midweek about potential January transfer activity, Mourinho said:"I am always open to listen to offers for every player. But more than listen to offers, I am always ready to listen to the players themselves.

"So any player who knocks on my door and is not happy and wants to move, when the offers are correct, I will never stop a player from leaving, even if it is to a rival. When Juan Mata left Chelsea to come to Manchester United, no problem at all. In my mentality, no problem at all. I am always open."
