German Bundesliga side Bayern Munich is set to rival Arsenal in the chase to sign Ghana and Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Teye Partey.

The Ghanaian midfielder after an eye-catching performance prior to the suspension of the 2019/2020 football season in Spain has caught the attention of some of Europe's top clubs who are hoping to reinforce their respective teams.

Arsenal seems to be leading the race for the signature of the Rojiblancos midfielder after already putting in a first bid. They will now need to regroup and put in an improved bid with reports indicating that Bayern Munich has decided to try and sign him to replace the aging Javi Martinez.

The two clubs will surely go into a tug of bids in their pursuit of the Ghanaian international and will even need to be prepared to pay as high as 100 million Euros for the Atletico Madrid man.

Partey's release clause is currently 50 million Euros but as reported by footballghana.com, he is in talks with his club over a contract extension that will double that fee.

Meanwhile, another club said to be considering making a move for Thomas Partey is English Premier League heavyweight Manchester United.
