Speaking to German organisationBild,he said on the change from Guardiola to Ancelotti: "We play more cautious, we do not try 90 minutes of pressing play as with Pep Guardiola.

"This is simply not our plan. There are now phases in which we wait to go forward so we can create more space."

Both Guardiola and Ancelotti will go down as two of football's greatest managers with a total of five Champions League titles between them, alongside countless domestic titles in Spain, Germany, Italy, England and France.

Bayern currentlysit top of the Bundesliga table but saw their 100% winning start ended at the weekend in a 1-1 draw at home with FC Koln. They had won their opening five matches, scoring 15 goals and conceding just once.

Guardiola has since left to take over at Manchester City where he currently sits top of the Premier League after exercising some scintillating football in England.
