Be bold to implement your ideas no matter the pressure - Otto Addo to new Black Stars coach

Otto Addo believes that whoever is named as the new head coach of the Black Stars must be confident in his capability to implement his plans despite the difficulties he may face.

Addo resigned as national team coach after the Black Stars were eliminated from the 2022 FIFA World Cup after Uruguay beat Ghana 2-0 in their final group on Friday, December 2 at the Al Janoub Stadium. Uruguay also exited after South Korea beat Portugal 2-1.

Ghana placed last in Group H with three points after three games.

Speaking at Ghana Football Association's media briefing after Ghana's exit from the Mundial Otto Addo had some words of advice for the coach who will take his position.

“Be himself, fulfil his ideas no matter who tries to come between but he should listen to his coaching staff, take advice and if there is anything I can do to help, I am always there,” he said.

“I will give advice and help my motherland. [He] should not listen to negativity too much, be fearless,”
