Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, has disclosed that Ghana Premier League clubs, Dreams FC and Legon Cities, have shown interest in using the University of Ghana Stadium as their home venue.

The stadium, which was recently used as the main facility for the African Games, has caught the attention of the two clubs who are eager to switch venues for their home matches.

Asante Twum, however, noted that the move might not materialize this season due to some logistical arrangements that need to be made. He mentioned that discussions with the University of Ghana management, possibly through the Ministry of Youth and Sports, would have to take place to grant them the opportunity to use the stadium for some of their league matches.

The GFA Communications Director further highlighted the convenience that the University of Ghana Stadium offers, as it would allow fans to attend matches in the evening after work and easily commute to and from the stadium.

"When it is done, it will give us some ease with the time most of the 3pm matches will be moved to the evening looking at the nature of where the stadium is someone can close from work and he knows the game is 7pm or 8pm and that place from the stadium you get to the bus stop pick your car and go home," he told Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com

Asante Twum expressed hope that the discussions with the University management would yield positive results and that from next season, some of the league matches could be played at the University of Ghana Stadium.
