Beating Hearts of Oak, a huge morale booster for Kotoko clash - Tamale City coach Hamza Mohammed

Tamale City head coach Hamza Mohammed says beating Hearts of Oak 4-1 in the week 28 fixture of the Ghana Premier League will serve as a huge morale booster ahead of their clash with Kotoko.

The Premier League debutants will travel to face the Porcupine Warriors in week 29 of the domestic top-flight on Sunday.

At the post-match conference, the former Ghana international said recording an emphatic victory against Hearts of Oak was crucial to the team’s morale ahead of their tie with Kotoko.

“It’s going to be a big morale booster playing another big club. My boys should be motivated enough, recording a big win against Hearts and taking on Asante Kotoko again. We have to take it one match at a time, we are going to recover and then plan well and face Kotoko on Sunday” he said.

Tamale City breathed new life into their quest to avoid relegation with a dominant display against the Phobians at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.

The hosts ran out 4-1 winners, with Sampson Eduku netting a brace, while Mohammed Yahaya and Isaac Mensah also found the back of the net.

The win sees Tamale City climb three places clear of the relegation zone and gives them hope of avoiding the drop.

Hearts of Oak, on the other hand, put in a lackluster performance that left their fans disappointed. Their only bright spot came in the form of Victor Aidoo's consolation goal.
