On Sunday, President Nana Akufo-Addo-Addo announced the directive during his 10th address on the measures taken against the spread of the coronavirus.

All football leagues in the country have been halted since mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic as part of measures to help curb the spread of the disease.

"The President didn't meet our expectation because we were expecting something different from what he said," he told Opemsuo FM.

"The pandemic has come to stay with us and because of that, we should find cogent measures to curtail the situation to pave way for football to resume other than being halted.  We cannot continue to at home."

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has said it will wait until at least June 30 to make a decision on the future of the league.

The 2019/20 Premier League was at its match week 15 stage when it was halted with Aduana Stars leading the table with 28 points.
