Midfielder Bernard Mensah has bemoaned his Besiktas outfit’s defeat to Konyaspor over the weekend after noting that he is saddened by the result.

The Ghana international was in action for the Black Eagles on Sunday at the Konya Büyüksehir Belediyesi Stadium during a Matchday 3 fixture of the 2020/2021 Turkish Super Lig.

At the end of the 90 minutes, Bernard Mensah and his Besiktas teammates suffered a 4-1 defeat to Konyaspor on the road.

Speaking in a post-match interview, the midfielder who emerged as the best player for the losers on the day says his team took the match lightly.

“We took this match lightly. Our opponent found a goal from our mistakes. We will work harder and come back better”, the 25-year old said via Fanatik.

Mensah added, “It is very sad that such a big club has achieved such a result”.

The midfielder joined Besiktas this summer from Kayserispor and has 1 goal after featuring in all 3 games for his new team this season.
