Ghana's U23 national team, the Black Meteors, will camp at least two weeks before takng part in the 2023 U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be hosted in Morocco.

Black Meteors management committee chair, Frederick Acheampong, has indicated that this is t0 afford the team enough time to get to know each other before the tournament.

"We are proposing to have a two week camping prior to the tournament. Before that, we want to have non-residential camping before we get into proper camping at least two weeks before the tournament would begin in morocco," he told Citi Sports.

In the final round of qualifiers, Ghana defeated Algeria over two legs and secured its qualification for the Olympic qualifying tournament March by drawing 1-1 in Algeria and winning 1-0 in Kumasi.

The Black Meteors, led by Ibrahim Tanko, are targeting to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games. It has been almost 20 years since the team last qualified for the tournament in 2004.
