Yusif Basigi, the coach of the Black Princesses, has expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the West African Football Union (WAFU) under-20 tournament's Local Organizing Committee (LOC).

According to Yusif Basigi organizing a major maiden tournament is not easy but the local organizing committee has been able to properly put things in place without any problems.

"The tournament is good it is not always easy for maiden edition in terms of organization. But I want to commend the organizers the LOC  for a wonderful job because so far we have not encountered any major hitch anywhere. So far they are doing very well and everything is going on smoothly," he said on Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com

Basigi also stated that women's football on the continent is growing rapidly and countries that are not powerhouses in terms of women football are learning to be better.

"I will say women football in Africa is growing very fast if you look at let me take Niger we played them we beat them 11. They came to play Nigeria in a major tournament and lost by 7 goals, with their next opponent they lost but it started going down they lost about 3 or 4. This tells you that they are learning and if you look at the quality of other countries that we didn't know in terms of women football they are also coming up very well. The likes of Benin, Togo, you can see that they are doing very well so when you come to Ghana we are a household name as well as Nigeria,"
