Black Princesses attacker, Mafia Nyame has disclosed that her ambition is to leave a mark at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.

The attacker is part of a provisional squad assembled by Ghana U20 women’s national team head coach Yusif Basigi.

Speaking to the media team of the Black Princesses, Mafia Nyame who featured for Ghana at the last FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup said she wants to make a massive impact in Columbia.

“It is always an honour to be called to the national team to serve the nation wholeheartedly. I represented Ghana at the 2022 edition but it didn’t go as planned and this is an opportunity to go and make history. Everyone in camp is doing well to make it in the final squad to the World Cup. There are many talented players here and everyone is putting in extra work.

“I featured in only one game as a sub in Costa Rica and hopefully if I make it to this year’s World Cup, I’ll go and do well to leave a mark,” Mafia Nyame said.

The Black Princesses forward continued, “I believe in this team to make it out of the group stage for the first time in our history. The technical team is doing their best and taking us through series of trainings.”

The FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup is scheduled for Columbia from Saturday, August 31 to Sunday, September 22, 2024.

The Black Princesses are in Group E and will face off with Australia, Japan, and New Zealand.
