Head coach of the Black Princesses, Yussif Basigi is upbeat ahead of his side’s double-header against Senegal in the last round of the qualifiers for the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

Speaking ahead of the first leg of the tie this weekend, the coach said his players are poised and hungry to secure qualification at the end of the two games.

“They [the Black Princesses are hungry to go to the World Cup so they don’t need much motivation from me but they are self-motivated which I think is very good,” Coach Yussif Basigi said in an interview with the media team of Ghana FA.

In his interview, Coach Yussif Basigi called on Ghanaians to support the Black Princesses to achieve the target of qualifying for the 2024 FIFA U20 Women.

“We are here [in Senegal] with the intention of qualifying from here in Senegal. That means we are not looking back. I need their support as usual so that with the spirit behind them we will be able to achieve our target,” the coach said.

The first leg of the tie between Ghana and Senegal will be played tomorrow at the Thies Stade Lat Dior in Senegal.
