Black Stars B to start 2023 CHAN qualifiers on April 28

The Black Stars "B" will return to action in July for the TotalEnergies Championship of Africa Nations (CHAN) qualifications.

Ghana will learn who its opponents will be when the Confederation of African Football holds the qualifying draw on April 28, 2022.

CAF's competition for home-based players plying their trade in Africa's different leagues will see over 40 countries from six zones compete for the tournament's 16 berths.

CAF announced on 10 September 2020 that the tournament had been rescheduled to January 2023, following the postponement of the 2020 African Nations Championship to 2021 and the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The qualifying rounds will begin in July 2022. Algeria will host the next CHAN competition from January 8 to January 31.

Ghana last competed in the CHAN tournament in South Africa in 2014.

The first tournament was held in 2009; it was played in Ivory Coast and was won by the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This team, along with Morocco, are the only ones to have won the title twice.
