Black Stars coach Chris Hughton watches Bofoakwa Tano beat Eleven Wonders in Division One League playoff final

Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton was present at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday afternoon to witness Bofoakwa Tano's victory over Techiman Eleven Wonders in the 2022/23 National Division One League Zone 1 playoff final.

Accompanying the former Brighton and Hove Albion boss was Black Stars team manager Ameenu Shardow.

This marked the second local match Hughton attended this week, following his observation of Asante Kotoko's 1-1 draw against Karela United on Monday during match week 32 of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League.

In the thrilling final, Bofoakwa Tano secured a 7-6 victory in a penalty shootout after a hard-fought 1-1 draw in a grueling 120 minutes of football. This win marks their return to the Ghana Premier League after a 16-year absence.

Ahead of the round five clash of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Madagascar on June 18, 2023, Chris Hughton has announced a 24-man squad.

A victory in the upcoming match could secure qualification for the Black Stars in next year's tournament, which will take place in Ivory Coast.
