The head coach for the Black Stars of Ghana, Charles Kwablah Akonnor has agreed to take a 40% pay cut, information gathered by footballghana.com has revealed.

The former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko coach was appointed as the head coach for the Ghana senior national team in January this year as he replaced coach James Kwesi Appiah.

Having signed a contract that sees him earning $25,000 at the end of every month, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has managed to negotiate for CK Akonnor to take a pay cut.

As reported by your most trusted online portal last week, the Ministry has in the last few weeks been engaging the tactician over the pay cut as a result of the financial difficulties presented by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Today, sources have confirmed that Coach Akonnor has agreed to the pay cut.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that the coach is yet to receive any of his monthly wages in the period of the Coronavirus crisis.
