Black Stars goalkeeper Joseph Wollacott starts training after long injury layoff

There is good news for the Black Stars of Ghana ahead of the start of the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup next month.

This follows the recovery of Ghana goalkeeper Joseph Wollacott from injury after his long layoff.

The goalkeeper has been out of action for 8 weeks after he suffered an injury setback at his club, Hibernian FC.

The 26-year-old sustained the injury during his debut match for Hibernian against Andorran side Inter d’Escaldes in August.

Thankfully, Joseph Wollacott has undergone the treatment and completed his rehabilitation.

The goalkeeper has now started training and is expected to be in line to feature for his club in upcoming games next month.

If he is able to find form, it is likely that the goalkeeper will be invited to the Black Stars in no time for national assignments.

The immediate assignment for the Ghana national team in November for the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana faces a goalkeeping problem and urgently needs a dependable shot-stopper.
