Black Stars management members can only make recommendations to the coach - Mahama Ayariga

The Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga, has stated that officials of the Ghana Football Association can only make recommendations to the coach of the Black Stars in terms of player selection.

He believes a coach worth his salt cannot be influenced to select a player.

These reports of officials interfering in player selection has been in the discussions for a very long time now.

“If you have a coach worth his salt, nobody in the FA will be able to influence him as to his choice of players.

“You’ll only make your recommendations, he’ll access them and sometimes your recommendations make sense, he’ll accept them and if they don’t make sense he’ll reject them.

“There’s nothing you can do about it because he’s a coach worth his salt.”

The Black Stars are without a coach again after the sacking of head coach Chris Hughton following Ghana’s poor showing at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
