Published on: 09 March 2023

Black Stars squad for this month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola has been announced by the Ghana Football Association.

Crystal Palace's versatile player Jeffery Schlupp did not receive a call up. Schlupp last played for Ghana in 2021 against Ethiopia.

On 7 November 2011, Schlupp was called up to the Ghana squad to face Sierra Leone and Gabon. Schlupp made his Ghana debut against Gabon on 15 November, coming on as a late substitute for Prince Tagoe.

Ghana will meet Angola in a double header this month for a spot in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Cote D'Ivoire in January of next year.

The Black Stars will meet Palancras Negras at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday, March 23, 2023, before traveling to Luanda for the return on March 27, 2023.

Ghana is joint top of Group E with four points from two games, having won 3-0 over Madagascar and drawn 1-1 with Central African Republic in June of last year.
