Black Stars will build on 2023 AFCON to become good - Oduro Nyarko

Veteran football administrator, Samuel Oduro Nyarko beleives the Black Stars will use the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations to achieve greater heights in the future.

The senior national team has come under pressure recently following their back-to-back defeats in the October international friendly games.

Ghana lost 2-0 to Mexico before a humiliating 4-0 defeat against the USA.

Chris Hughton, who is the head coach for the side has come under pressure with several reports suggesting that he has been given two games to keep his job.

However, Oduro Nyarko beleives the team is at its moulding stage and will need time to come good.

“I think that the Black Stars is in the moulding stage I still believe so and that in a few years to come, we will have a very good team," he told Citi Sports.

"We will use the AFCON as a stepping stone to greater heights," he added.

Ghana has been drawn in Group B with Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique for that tournament scheduled to be hosted in Ivory Coast next year.

The tournament has been scheduled to kick off from January 13 to February 11.
