Bofoakwa Tano CEO urges swift action against hooliganism in Ghana football

Alexander Ababio, the Chief Executive Officer of Bofoakwa Tano, has called upon the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to take immediate and decisive action against hooliganism in order to completely eradicate this problem from the Ghana football.

In recent seasons, acts of hooliganism have plagued football venues across Ghana, casting a shadow over the beautiful game in the country.

In an interview with Citi Sports, Ababio emphasized the need for the GFA and other stakeholders to prioritize educating and sensitizing fans to refrain from engaging in such behavior.

Ababio stated, "I have always maintained that fans who misbehave should face severe disciplinary actions. I believe that this will discourage such behavior. At Sunyani, we played all our league matches this season without any incidents.

We must continue to educate fans about the game. Some people mistakenly believe that winning at any cost is the only objective when playing at home, but that should not be the case.

“We will not allow hooliganism to take over our football, especially after a long and challenging journey back to the top division."
