Bofoakwa Tano will appoint new coach for 2023/24 season - CEO Alexander Ababio

Alexander Ababio, the Chief Executive Officer of Bofoakwa Tano, has shed light on the club's promotion to Ghana's top-flight league after a 16-year hiatus.

The achievement of promotion marks a significant milestone for Bofoakwa Tano, who endured relegation during the 2006/2007 campaign.

The Sunyani-based club secured their spot in the top flight by triumphing over Eleven Wonders with a 7-6 penalty shootout victory at the Accra Sports Stadium.

With their qualification secured, Bofoakwa Tano is now focused on the upcoming 2023/24 league season and has outlined plans to restructure the technical team and bolster the squad in order to compete at the premier league level.

Ababio highlighted the importance of bolstering the technical team by appointing a new coach.

He revealed, Fuseini Abubakari, who led them to promotion, does not have the required documents to coach the club in the GPL.

He explained to Citi Sports, "We have to also beef the technical team up. We have to get a new coach because the current coach holds a License B, which does not allow them to coach in the premier league."
