Boxer Patrick Allotey finally arrested for assaulting a Kotoko supporter

Ghanaian boxer Patrick Allotey has been arrested by the Police for assaulted a supporter of Kumasi Asante Kotoko last weekend at the Accra Sports Stadium during a Ghana Premier League match.

On the matchday where Hearts of Oak was hosting Kotoko, the WBO Africa Super welterweight champion was captured on video having a confrontation with a fan who looked like he was jubilating.

The boxer who was boiling with anger ended up throwing punches that wounded the supporter identified as Michael Siaw close to his eye. The deep cut wound forced him to seek medical attention as he filed a case against Patrick Allotey at the Odorkor Police Station.

While efforts to get the boxer arrested proved futile, the case was later moved to the Police Headquarters. It is now understood that the boxer has been apprehended by the Police today.

An eyewitness told Ghanacrusader.com: “He [Patrick Allotey] is in the police custody as at this afternoon, He was with the Regional Crime Officer in Accra.

“He has been referred to the Regional police headquarters in Accra for interrogation”.
