Brighton boss Hughton to bid for Leeds striker Wood

Brighton boss Chris Hughton is ready to bid for Leeds United striker Chris Wood.

The Sun says Hughton has belatedly been given a bumper jackpot to spend and he has his sights on Wood who tore up the Championship with 30 goals last season.

Wood, 25, had a spell on loan at Brighton in 2010-11 and is seen as the perfect man to lead their line.

The Premier League new-boys would pay around £12million for him — but even that might not be enough.
