Brighton News: Izzy Brown ready to show Huddersfield what they missed; Stephens up for Terriers test

Published on: 06 December 2017

Brighton midfielder Izzy Brown is ready for their clash with Huddersfield Town this weekend.

Brown, on-loan from Chelsea, helped Huddersfield win promotion from the Championship last season.

Brown revealed: "After the play-off final I thought I was going to go back. But, as the summer went on, things didn't start to work out the way it was meant to be.

"They wanted to buy me on a permanent and it wasn't possible. I had a few meetings with the manager here and thought this was the club I wanted to join.

"The way the manager plays will improve me. He's a great coach, so I made my mind up early in the summer that Brighton was a club I wanted to go to.

"All the (Huddersfield) fans are still tweeting me, saying come back, come back, but my main focus is on Brighton. So when it comes to the weekend I want us to win.

"That's all I want to do, it's a must-win game for us."

Meanwhile, fellow Seagulls midfielder Dale Stephens rates the Terriers game as huge after last weekend's thrashing by Liverpool.

He said, “It's another big game for us and we've got plenty more matches between now and Christmas, so the thing we must do is dust ourselves down and keep going.

“It will be another tough game but we have to regroup this week now and then get ready for what will be a different challenge.

“We'll got there with confidence and see it as a good opportunity to get three points in what is a crucial stage of the season.

“It's been a busy season and it's what we've worked so hard for over the last two years – we're where we want to be in the Premier League and will keep working hard and picking up points."
