Youngster Ernest Poku has been added to the selection by AZ trainer Pascal Jansen to experience the preparation for the new season. The ex-player of FC Amsterdam is developing excellently with the Alkmaarders.
Poku, together with his young teammates Fedde de Jong, Zico Buurmeester, Jorn Berkhout, Yusuf Barasi and Sem Westerveld, went to a training camp in Epe in Gelderland. Of these six, Poku was the most in the spotlight last week.
In the exhibition game with TOP Oss he made the 2-0 and against Anderlecht Poku was important in the equalizer of Zakaria Aboukhlal.
Trainer Pascal Jansen is very satisfied with the development of 17-year-old Poku. He expects that he will hold his own in the big man's world. Next season, the attacker will mainly play and gain experience in the first division with Jong AZ. Last season he already made his debut for the U23 team.
