Cabaye return provides huge boost for Crystal Palace confirms Hodgson

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodsgon knows his side need every bit of good fortune heading into the busy Christmas period.

The London club are still in the relegation zone, with just 10 points from 15 games. And Palace need a result in the upcoming home game against Bournemouth, who are not far from the relegation scrap either.

Hodsgon received good news on the fitness of key midfielder Yohan Cabaye ahead of the game.

"He is fine, he's trained after an injury," Hodgson stated.

"He ruptured a cyst I think at the back of his knee against Stoke City, in the latter part of that game."

The injury was originally feared as serious, but Cabaye did play in the following game against Brighton.

"We thought that would keep him out for a while, but he managed to do well and play the bulk of the game against Brighton," confirmed Hodsgon.

"But then it developed as such that he wasn't available to play at West Brom, but luckily it's settled down and he's trained all week, so he's fine."

Palace know that big results in the coming three or four games could see a climb out of the relegation zone, which would boost the confidence of everyone at the club.
