CAF Champions League: It’s possible for Medeama to qualify with Al Ahly from group – Felix Aboagye

Former Ghana international Felix Aboagye is confident Medeama can progress to the knockout stage of the CAF Champions League with group opponent Al Ahly.

The Yellow and Mauves are paired in Group D alongside giants Al Ahly, CR Belouizdad and Young Africans.

The reigning Champions League holders made a strong start at the weekend, defeating the Ghanaian champions 3-0 at the Al Salam Stadium in Cairo.

Speaking about the chances of Medeama, the Al Ahly legend asserted the Ghanaian outfit can make it to the knockout stage with his former club in they are able to manage some away points.

“The group is very strong and any team in it can qualify for the next round. It is possible for Medeama to qualify with Al-Ahly if it manages to get some points in the matches it plays outside its home country” he said.

Medeama will face CR Belouizdad at the Baba Yara Stadium in their second group game whiles Al Ahly travel to Tanzania to face Young Africans.

The former Ghana striker is one of the most prominent African professionals in the history of Al Ahly, who wrote a golden history with the Reds, after winning 11 local, continental and Arab titles.
