CAF Champions League: Medeama can cope without Jonathan Sowah – Evans Adotey ahead Al Ahly tie

Medeama technical director Augustine Evans Adotey does not see how the departure of Jonathan Sowah will affect the team ahead of Al Ahly game, as they have equally good replacement.

The CAF Champions League was on a break due to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast but returns this weekend for the penultimate games at the group stage.

The Yellow and Mauves will host the record holders today at the Baba Yara Stadium as both teams seek for favourable results.

At the pre-match conference, Adotey asserted his outfit can cope without Sowah, who was recently transferred to Libyan outfit Al Nasr.

“Sowah is gone and is no more part of the team. A new coach has taken over and knows how the situation looks like. Surely, without Sowah, we have other two, three attackers to step in the shoes of Sowah. Our objective is to come out as victors in the game” he said.

Medeama are bottom in Group D with 4 points and must play above themselves to progress to the next stage of the competition.
