CAF Champions League: Medeama coach Evans Adotey cautious about defeat ahead of Young Africans clash

Medeama tactician Augustine Evans Adotey is aiming at securing a good result when his outfit lock horns with Young Africans in the CAF Champions League.

The Tanzanian giants will play host to the Yellow and Mauve on Wednesday in the matchday four of the CAF elite competition group stage.

The first leg of the tie ended in a stalemate last week in Kumasi, and Evans Adotey is looking forward to a positive result to stay in contention for a spot in the quarter-finals.

Striker Jonathan Sowah scored for Medeama in the first leg, but the Tanzanian champions proved to be tough opponents, managing to snatch a crucial draw that kept their hopes alive.

“I have the confidence, why not? I don’t mind even if I am intimidated or frustrated, my focus and my mission is to ensure that I go back home to Ghana with a good result. A draw is okay for me; a win is okay for me. Defeat is what I need to be cautious about!” he said at the pre-match conference.

After three games, Medeama sit on four points, level with CR Belouizdad of Algeria. Egyptian giants Al Ahly lead the group with five points. Yanga SC, who are bottom of the table, have managed to secure only two points so far.
