CAF Champions League: "We suffered from sluggishness” – Al Ahly coach Marcel Kohler after Medeama clash

Al Ahly coach Marcel Kohler has explained his outfit slow start against Medeama in the in the CAF Champions League group stage opener on Saturday.

The Yellow and Mauves held Al Ahly to a goalless draw in the first half of the game, but the Egyptians made a strong case for themselves in the second half after cruising to a convincing 3-0 win at the Al Salam stadium.

Goals from Kahraba, Hussein El Shahat and Salah Mohsen ensured Al Ahly secure maximum points at the end of the game.

After the game, the Swiss tactician indicated his side suffered from sluggishness, slow rhythm, and losing the ball quickly, hence the draw in the first half.

: "We suffered from sluggishness, slow rhythm, and losing the ball quickly. In the second half, the performance was much better, and we achieved a well-deserved victory."

Al Ahly will face Young Africans in their second group game of the CAF elite competition this weekend.
