Hearts of Oak Board Member Alhaji Akambi is highly optimistic his side will overturn their 3-0 deficit against AS Real Bamako in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup.

The Phobians suffered a humiliating 3-0 loss to AS Real Bamako in the second round of the CAF inter-club competition in Mali last Saturday.

Hearts will welcome the Malian side to the Accra Sports stadium in the return leg on Sunday.

"Everyone knows Hearts of Oak have quality and I don't think football fanatics will begruadge it. We made good recruitment during the transfer window," Akambi told Wontumi FM.

"We have about 10 players playing for various national teams and that tells you we have a very good team.

He added, "In football, anything can happen, you will not even understand yourself when you think about certain things."

"We just need prayers and am sure we can overturn that scoreline."

The winner of the tie will move to the play-off round where they will face one of the 16 losers from the CAF Champions League second round.

Hearts of Oak are Ghana’s sole representative in Africa following Asante Kotoko’s early exit from the CAF Champions League.
