Dreams FC coach, Karim Zito, has expressed confidence that clubs across the continent will start to recognize their capabilities following their advancement to the semifinals of the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup.

The achievement marks a historic moment for the Still Believe lads, as they become the first Ghanaian club in two decades to reach this stage of the competition.

Despite it being their inaugural appearance in a CAF inter-club tournament, Dreams FC has surpassed the expectations of many.

Securing their place in the semifinals came after a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Mali’s Stade Malien in the second leg of the quarterfinals, held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Dreams FC progressed with a 3-2 aggregate scoreline.

Reflecting on the journey, Zito emphasized the team's determination not to be complacent despite the milestone.

“At the end of the day, we will not allow this qualification to put us down. We are going to fight. You've seen it," the veteran Ghanaian trainer said.

“Here it was more difficult than when we went there. I told them this opposition would be better.

“They'll be more difficult than what we had over there. So I think people will take us seriously now when we go to the semi-finals. But trust me, we'll be there," he added.

Meanwhile, Dreams FC will face Egyptian side, Zamalek SC in the semifinals of the competition.

The first leg is scheduled to be held at the Cairo International Stadium on April 21 before the reverse game at the Baba Yara Stadium seven days later.
