CAF Confederations Cup: Dreams FC coach Karim Zito eyes semifinals ahead of Stade Malien clash

Dreams FC coach Abdul Karim Zito has set sights on securing qualification to the semifinals of the CAF Confederations Cup over Stade Malien.

The Still Believe remarkable performance in their maiden Africa campaign has earned them a place among the continent’s elite clubs.

As the team prepare for the crucial first leg tie in Mali, the experienced trainer has targeted semifinal spot over Stade Malien.

Speaking ahead of the game, the experienced trainer asserted his side approach the game with the mentality of winning or securing a draw in Mali.

“We are going there with two objectives. Firstly, we are going in to win, and if not the best result is to come back home with a draw. So these are the strategy we are going map up and go there”

“I used similar tactics against Medeama when I played them last Sunday and it worked for us. so we are going to there at least to have a point or three. At the end of the day, our expectation is to qualify to the semifinals and nothing aside that” he said.

The Still Believe lads will depart to Bamako, Mali on Friday for the first leg tie to be staged at the Stade 26 Mars Stadium at 5pm.

Dreams FC are gearing up for a tough challenge in Mali on Sunday but are keen for a favourable results.

Karim Zito will be counting on experience forward John Antwi, having featured for a host of top clubs in Africa including Al Ahly and Pyramids FC.

The Ghana FA Cup holders have also been boosted by the return of trio Abdul Aziz Issah, Ofori McCarthy and Emmanuel Adjei. The trio played a huge role to help the Black Satellite secure gold at the just ended Africa Games.
