CAF Confederations Cup: We were determined to beat Rivers United at all cost – Dreams FC youngster Abdul Aziz Issah

Dreams FC youngster Abdul Aziz Issah has revealed he and his teammates were determined to beat Rivers United in the CAF Confederations Cup second group game.

The Still Believe lads inflicted a 2-1 win over the Nigerian outfit o bounce back to winning ways in the competition having suffered defeat in their group opener against Club Africain in Tunisia.

Experienced attacker John Antwi and Abdul Aziz Issah goals were enough for the host to snatch victory at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.

Speaking after the game, Aziz Issah, who sealed victory for the host expressed his side were poised to secure victory against their opponent.

“It was a difficult game for us because we had lost in Tunisia to Club Africain in our first game. Coming back home, we were determined to win at all cost. It was a difficult game for us. Rivers United felt they are more experienced than us but we thank God for the victory”

“We were all motivated and poised to pick the three points at all cost. We knew a defeat against Rivers United could derail our chances in the competition. We thank God and everyone who played a role in this win”

Dreams FC will travel to face Angolan outfit Academica do Lobito in their third group game of the Confederations Cup this weekend.
