The Confederation of African football has fined defending GPL champions Hearts of Oak an amount in the region of $5000 for the poor state of the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Phobians hosted Guinean side CI Kamsar in a one-legged tie of the CAF Champions League qualifiers where the team clinched a 2-0 victory thanks to late strikes.

The Confederation has also reportedly told the club to get their pitch in shape for future CAF Champions League matches.

Samuel Boadu's side will battle Wydad Casablanca in the final qualification round. They will hope to clinch valuable wins to make it to a competition that has eluded them for multiple years.
