CAF suspend former Sierra Leone forward Mohamed Kallon for misconduct

Confederation of African Football (CAF) have suspended ex-Sierra Leone forward Mohamed Kallon for misconduct in his side’s 6-0 defeat against Future FC.

Kallon has also been fined by the Africa's football governing body.

The Sierra Leon Football Association released a statement and confirmed that the 43-year-old received a four-game ban as well as a hefty fine of $10,000 for his behaviour.

The statement also clamed that that the sanctions are not subject to appeal with CAF setting a deadline for Kallon to pay the fine on January 27, 2023.

The former Inter Milan forward is currently managing FC Kallon, who are ninth in the Sierra Leone Premier League table.

The club took on Egyptian outfit Future FC in the CAF Confederation Cup’s second preliminary round back in October.

Future managed to dominate both legs of the encounter as they advanced with a comfortable 6-0 win on aggregate over Kallon.

Mohamed Kallon is widely considered the most famous footballer from Sierra Leone. He made 39 appearances for the senior national team during his career.

Kallon is the younger brother of former Sierra Leonean international footballers Kemokai Kallon and Musa Kallon.
