The Member of Parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem, George Mireku Duker has expressed high hopes for Medeama Sporting Club's to make their presence felt in the 2023/24 CAF Champions League.

After securing a notable 4-3 aggregate triumph against Guinea's Horoya, the Tarkwa-based team has achieved a significant milestone as the first Ghanaian club to qualify for the continental club championship since 2012.

Even with a 2-1 defeat in Conakry, the Ghana Premier League champions progressed to the next round, propelled by a 3-1 victory in the initial leg at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Speaking to the press on Monday, Duker emphasized the club's commitment to leave a lasting impression in the Champions League and to effectively represent Ghana on the continental stage.

“We are going to have our presence felt in the Champions League,” he said.

“We are urging each and every supporter to have hope in this team. We know that Ghana football will be energised starting with Medeama.”

Medeama beat Remo Stars from Nigeria in the first round of qualifiers to set up the game against Horoya.
