CAN 2019: Tunisia eliminates Ghana and qualifies for the quarters

Tunisia eliminated Ghana on Monday in the round of 16 of the African Nations Cup by winning on penalties (5-4) after a draw (1-1).

The Carthage Eagles opened the scoring with Taha Yassine Khenissi before Rami Bedoui cheated on his own goalkeeper, Mouez Hassan, leveling for the Ghanaians.

Alain Giresse decided to bring in Farouk Ben Mustapha at the end of extra time and it was he who offered the Carthage Eagles victories thanks to a decisive parade on penalties.

Tunisia will find Madagascar, dropping DR Congo on penalties, in the quarterfinals of the competition.
