It only took the German giants three minutes to take the lead, with their Polish star striker Robert Lewandowski producing a neat chip finish from a Franck Ribery pass. The Bavarians earned a convincing 3-0 victory against Bundesliga opponents Schalke on Wednesday night. Ancelotti has claimed that his side's victory had to do with their fast start and intense pressing from the very first whistle. He is still extremely satisfied that his team was 3-0 up in just 30 minutes.

"We were really good from the start and have played with high pressing," the 57-year-old Italian said.

"We put pressure on the Schalke defenseand the game was well controlled."

Lewandoski earned his 30th goal of the season in this vital victory, however, it was the impressive return of Ribery that struck the eyes of Ancelotti.

"Franck Ribery played very well, he was involved in every goal. I'm really happy for him."

Schalke's manager Markus Weinzierl expressed his frustration with how his side was below par and no match for the former Bundesliga champions.

"We did not manage to put up a fight here," Weinzierl stated.

Life for Bayern Munich at the moment is quite splendid as they just booked themselves a Pokal semi-final match with Borussia Dortmund or Sportfreunde Lotte. Ancelotti has reminded other club managers that with this impressive performance Bayern Munich is still a powerful force not to be taken lightly.

The Bavarians are now slowly edgingcloser to claim a 19th Pokal trophy, however, their tremendous form has also been replicated in the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
