Carlo Ancelotti Gives His Take on Arsenal Draw and Makes Amusing Gaffe in the Process

Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti has heaped praise onPremier League side Arsenal following Monday's Champions League draw.

The two clubs will square off when the tournament resumes next year, but perhaps the Italian was too modest with the plaudits, or perhapshe was simply misinformed, having referred to Arsene Wenger's side as 'Premier League leaders'.

The Gunners were indeed the league leaders (level on points)after their 3-1 win over Stoke City on Saturday, but Chelsea reclaimed the top spot with a ninth straight victory, beating West Brom 1-0 the following day.

We can excuse Carlo for making such a gaffe, as he probably didn't realise that his old club had played on Sunday. He's getting old y'know.

Speaking via Bayern'sofficial websitethe manager insisted he was looking forward to the two legs against the Gunners, also applauding Wenger's work this season.

"This will be two very interesting games, which I am already looking forward to," he remarked.

"I have confidence in my team and hope that we reach the quarter-finals. To do so, we have a good starting position for the game in London in the first-leg in the Allianz Arena.

"Arsenal currently has a very good team and a coach that I appreciate. The Londoners are currently top in the Premier League and have only lost once in the league this season. It's going to be difficult, but I'm confident."
