Carlo Ancelotti Reaches 1,000 Games in Management After Bayern's 8-0 Win Over Hamburger SV

Carlo Ancelotti has reached an impressive 1,000 games as a manager after Bayern Munich's 8-0 win over Hamburger SV on Saturday,Goalreport.


The Italian is revered as one of the greatest managers in the world, boasting a CV which includes such clubs as Real Madrid, Chelsea and Juventus. Ancelotti greatest spell of success came during his eight-year stay at Milan, during which he picked up nine honours with the club.

It has taken Ancelotti a total of 21 years to achieve the milestone, with the win over Hamburger on Saturday taking his haul of games to four figures. The 57-year-old won the Champions League twice with Milan, and triumphed in the competition again during the 2013-14 season with Real Madrid.


Ancelotti started his career as a manager with Reggiani, helping the team achieve promotion to Serie A during his only season at the club. He subsequently joined Parma, winning 42 of his 82 games in charge. A spell at Juventus followed, where he won the Intertoto Cup in 1999.

His historic reign at Milan saw Ancelotti win a Serie A title and two Champions League trophies before he left for a two-year stay atChelsea. In England Ancelotti secured a Premier League and FA Cup double during the 2010 season, but was sacked in 2011 after they finished the subsequent season without a trophy.


Another two-year stay followed as Ancelotti joined Ligue 1 giants PSG, winning the league title once. His brief stay at Real Madrid saw Ancelotti win four trophies, including the Copa del Rey and the Champions League, while he has already won a German Super Cup during his spell in charge of Bayern Munich.
