Celtic have defeated Rosenborg 1-0 in Norway to take them through to the play-off round of Champions League qualification.

The first leg at Parkhead ended in a goalless draw, but the Bhoys were saved from their blushes after James Forrest rifled the ball in the net with just over twenty minutes remaining.

Celtic dominated possession in the first half, but had to remain patient to find their much needed goal.

It eventuated 21 minutes from time when Scott Sinclair picked out Forrest. The 26-year old took a poor first touch, but managed to connect with the ball with devastating effect, slamming it past Andre Hansen from a tight angle.

Celtic now head into the Champions League play-off round, one step closer to the coveted group stages.
