The vice-president and chief sports officer of CF Montreal, Olivier Renard says the club is elated it managed to secure the services of Ghanaian international Kwadwo Opoku.

The MLS club on Wednesday announced the signing of the talented youngster from Los Angeles FC.

Speaking on the new signing, Olivier Renard said CF Montreal will provide the platform for Kwadwo Opoku to continue his development.

“We are very happy with this acquisition. He is a young player who already has a good experience in the league, in particular having won the MLS Cup last year by being a decisive player with LAFC.

“He will be able to bring us something different from the other players we have with his speed and one-on-one ability. This is a profile that we lacked in our workforce. I am convinced that he will be able to continue his progression with us,” the CF Montreal Vice President said.

Kwadwo Opoku, 21, in the last three years made a name for himself in Major League Soccer as a teenager.

Despite being young, he has gathered a lot of experience and should be able to use it to help CF Montreal.
